| | writes: I guess over the course of the next several billion years, our galaxy will try to cruise through Andromeda. They are both very similar. Their gravity will mix them together, but not before casting countless stars into the abyss between galactic clusters. It's like running with a tray of beer and tripping on a step. The less bound stuff goes flying.....
As we aproach the galaxy (In a few billion years), it may eventually become rather large in Earth's night sky.
